MW4 Release Date, Platforms, Early Access, and Game Pass

Full launch date

Call of Duty and Xbox Wire identify October 23, 2026 as the full launch date. The October 15 Call of Duty update describes MW4 as a standalone release.

Early access windows

Campaign Early Access began October 16, 2026. The official FOB guide says DMZ Early Access begins October 20 for eligible digital pre-purchases of Standard Digital or Vault Edition. The Campaign and DMZ schedules are separate.

The Call of Duty guide lists eligible early-access platforms as Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. Actual play time can vary by time zone or outage, and platform availability or dates may change.

Launch platforms and Game Pass

The Xbox Wire launch announcement lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. Its launch-platform list is broader than the early-access list above; do not assume every platform receives identical access timing.

The October 15 Call of Duty update says MW4 is not included with Game Pass at launch and is planned to arrive in Holiday 2027. Recheck the official notice for changes.
