MW4 known bugs and fixes
A short, dated tracker for launch-week MW4 problems. Every entry names the platform, the fix in the first sentence, whether the fix is official or community-reported, and when it was last checked.
First thing on launch day
Get the October 19 update installed before the 10 AM PT early-access window, then check this page if the game crashes or an error code appears. PC, PS5, Xbox and Switch 2 fixes are below, each with its source.
How to use this tracker
- Start with the error code. Each issue is a standalone page with the same title as the fix, so it can be read as one answer.
- Official beats social. Anything marked “Official steps” comes from the publisher or platform support; anything else is labelled community report.
- Check the date. A fix can age out in a single patch, so the last-checked date is on every card.
